The school year ended in June and I am proud to say that Shaylee brought home a 4.0 report card, Megan brought home a 4.0 report card, Morgan brought home a 3.5 report card and Kendra brought home a 3.0 report card. We are very proud of them for all their hard work! Kendra and Shaylee came out here in October and have made new friends and I wanted to thank all the girls that were nice and befriended them. I know its hard moving and going to new schools where you know no one, but thanks to a few girls, their transition was a lot easier on them.
We decided to take the girls to the beach for the first time. I of course have never really been so I did not know what to expect. The water was very salty and cold. I didn't spend much time in the actual water, but I did spend my time on the sand watching the girls build memories and sandcastles.
Here are the girls right before they got in the water the first time.
We had so much fun and I won't forget how Morgan got a mouthful of water and came running to me saying "Mommy, this water is SO SALTY!!" She is actually trying to spit out the water in this picture.
Kendra, Shaylee and Richard tried to wakeboard and did a pretty good job. They seemed to have a lot of fun and I captured some great pictures of them.
Megan wasn't all that interested in the water, but was more interested in collecting sea shells until she picked something up and got bit by a hermit crab. She screamed so loud but it was so funny after she found out what she had actually picked up.
^^^I love this picture of Megan!
We also went to the Virginia Aquarium and created a lot of memories there. We were able to take a boat ride around the pier and saw a lot of hermit crabs, neat beach homes learn about the things that grow in the ocean.

we were told Tom Hanks used this boat in a movie he filmed last year.
Inside the aquarium, we saw a lot of neat things like komodo dragons, sharks, sea turtles, string rays (Morgan even got to feel one). She said they are "slimy."

As we were on the beach, we noticed that a lot of people were riding these cool bikes that seated up to 6 people so we decided before we left that we would also try it out. What a work out we got!
I think overall the girls really enjoyed our vacation and Richard and I were able to walk the beach early in the morning. We went down to watch the sunrise, but it was very cloudy that day. It was ok though because it was the memory that I wanted to capture more than the picture. Richard really is a great husband and wonderful father to the girls. Our family truly is blessed to have him in our lives.
