Good Things Come in 3's

In the last update, I said that we were waiting for the consent papers to be returned to my attorney.  Well, on July 23rd, we got that blessed phone call that they have been returned. Not only were they returned, but they were signed and notarized.  WOO-HOO!! So the next thing we had to do was have Richard sign his consent that he agrees to adopt the girls and I also had to sign some papers that I agree and desire him to also adopt the girls. We got all the papers signed and turned back in and now we just wait for a hearing. You all know how impatient I am (ha-ha) so I looked on the court calendar website and there is only one adoption for my attorney and the date is Sept 3 at 10 am.  I do not know 100% if that is for us, but I sure hope it is! Kendra has decided to change her name to Kendra Lynn Jackson and Shaylee will have her name changed to Shaylee Breanne Jackson.  After the adoption is final, we will be having Kendra and Shaylee sealed to Richard and I.  We allowed the girls to choose what temple they would like to be sealed to us in and they have chosen the Salt Lake City, UT temple.  We were told by a few people that we would have to wait to have them sealed to us. I was kind of bummed about that, but I called the temple and verified that we can have them sealed to us immediately.  All they need is an adoption decree! I was told by my attorney that we should get that on the day of court. As hard as it has been dealing with the crap from my ex for 17 years, I am so glad that it is finally going to be over.  I think the girls are happy about that too.  We have a lot of fun together as a family and there is never a dull moment in our home with all the sense of humors everyone seems to have.

As most of you know, we moved back to UT in July.  We left West Virginia on July 16th and pulled into South Ogden on July 20th.  It was a LONG drive, but we are glad to finally be back "home."  We really did not want a lot of people knowing until we got the consent papers back from the ex.  I think had he known we were moving back, he probably would not have signed the papers.  Now that they are signed, he cannot revoke his consent, so we are good. Richard and I had jobs lined up before we left for UT, but both of those positions fell through when we finally arrived back in UT.  Luckily, I was able to find a job, but it did not last long.  I was working in a call center and sadly I could not hear with the headset they provided me.  I went and applied at another position and got hired for that and start in September.  I am still applying for federal jobs and just took an assessment for a CSR for IRS yesterday.  I am really hoping that I get picked up so I can start applying for positions internally with the IRS as there is so much opportunity there.  Richard has also been applying for every plumbing outfit there is and has finally  landed a position.  He will be starting that position tomorrow.  I know he has been going stir crazy with being home all the time.  He really is a get-up-and-go kind of guy and hates being home all the time.

Morgan recently turned 8 and will be getting baptized at the end of this month.  I will be sure to post an update of her special day along with some pictures. When we asked her what she wanted to wear to get baptized in, she piped right up and said "my swimming suit!" We kind of laughed and told her we needed to  know if she wanted to wear her white dress or a white jumpsuit. Silly girl, but we love her sense of humor.

The girls started school yesterday.  Kendra is now a Junior, Shaylee is a Freshman, Megan is in 6th grade and Morgan is in 3rd grade. I remember the day I dropped Kendra off for Kindergarten. My, how times flies!

We will have more updates later as life is always busy for us, so we hope you check back later and keep up with our family.  Much love and happiness to you all.
